Terry was such an able and well respected member of the international social work community. When complex issues arose in the executive meetings of the International Federation of Social Workers everyone would look to him to sum up the concerns concisely and offer practical solutions. He was also a great Parliamentarian at these meetings. His commitment to human rights was legendary - I remember his sterling efforts helping organise the first Asia-Pacific social work human rights seminar in the Philippines in 1995 and all his subsequent work with Amnesty International and as IFSW's first Secretary of its Human Rights Commission and his work with the Commonwealth Organisation for Social Work. Terry was such a committed and passionate social worker and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. (Nigel Hall, previous Human Rights Commissioner, IFSW)
